The Last ten days of forgiveness are upon us. Make sure that you don’t miss on the blessings of this last part of Ramadan. In these ten days, we are to seek the Night of Power, Lailatul Qadr. Prepare your duaa list, keep it close at the time of iftaar, and throughout the nights and keep begging Allah swt for your needs and ask Him swt to pour on you, on me and on the Ummah His mercy, love, care and protection.
Moving on to the ayah of the day 🙂
He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, what descends from the heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.
(Al Hadid 57:4)
The wonderful story of the Creation, is beautifully explained by Allah swt in this ayah. Look around you, the perfection of beauty in everything on this earth and up above the sky. Faultless art of supreme magnificence! Allah swt dares us in Surah Mulk to find a fault in His creation. Our eyes will get strained but we won’t be able to find a fault with how everything Allah swt has created in perfect measures of existence, capacity and beauty. We look around us and are amazed by the beauty of the earth, its lush green gardens and its trees, the snow caped mountains and the gushing streams, and who is not spell bound by the starry sky and the bright moon! The gorgeous earth we live in is nothing in comparison to how the heavens are. Allah swt says that what He swt has created for the believers in the heavens is beyond the human comprehension! Subhan Allah!
All this creation, that of the heavens and the earth and everything between them took Allah swt just six days to create as is clear in the ayah. Then He swt rose over His magnificent throne, in a manner as suits His majesty, in authority, power and knowledge. He swt knows everything that occurs on the surface of earth, ii its land and in its see. He swt is aware of everything that there is. He swt knows how many grains go in cultivation, the amount of seeds and the drops of water that seep in. He swt knows what comes thereof, its plants, fruits and vegetation.
He is all aware, Al Khabir, nothing is ever hidden from Him. There is not a leaf that falls somewhere on the earth that He swt is not aware of! He knows what descends to the earth from the heavens, as in the rain, the snow, His decree, His commandments, His angels, His mercy and His anger. and all that which ascends up to the heavens. What goes up to the heavens from the earth are our deeds and the angels that bring our records to Him though He swt already knows. Every day and every night, there are angels going between the heavens and the earth, taking our accounts to Allah swt, and fulfilling other commandments of Allah swt as well.
The next part of the ayah is commencing the fact that Allah swt is All Knowledgeable. He swt is aware of everything that you see, you say, and you do. He swt knows you, inside and out. You might have different faces in different situations and to different people, but He swt knows them all. He swt knows what you say, and what you don’t, and what you intend to. He is aware of your intentions as well and all the thoughts that cross by you. You can be anywhere on the earth, in some distant corner, under the sea or under the earth, He swt knows your whereabouts and everything that you are. From Him nothing is hidden.
Always bear this thing in mind. Yes, of course you know all of this. We all do. But we forget from time to time or are get oblivious to this reality. If that hadn’t been the case, none of us would fall into errors and sins. If we remained conscious of Allah swt being all aware and knowing our every thought, action and intention, do you think we would still do what we do? I think not! Therefore, keep reminding yourself, that Allah swt sees you when no one else does, he hears you, when you think no one is listening, He swt watches you when you think no one is watching!! Ensure that you are living a life pleasing to Allah swt and not bringing shame to yourself. May Allah swt help us achieve this state of consciousness. Ameen.
Also, don’t forget to recite the following duaa for the night of Qadr!
Aisha reported: I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?” He (pbuh) replied, “You should supplicate:
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).” [At-Tirmidhi].
